President Ruto Nominates Registrar And Assistant Registrar Of Political Parties, And Appoints KNCHR Chairperson


President William Ruto has, in accordance with his constitutional mandate and upon the recommendations of the Public Service Commission, made key nominations to the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties.

The nominees are: Mr. John Cox Lorionokou – Registrar of Political Parties and Ms. Agatha Wanjiku Wahome – Assistant Registrar of Political Parties

These appointments aim to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Registrar’s office and enhance the governance of political parties in Kenya.

In a separate nomination, and following the recommendation of the Selection Panel appointed through Kenya Gazette Notice No. 4651 dated 11th April 2025, President Ruto has nominated:

  • Ms. Claris Awour Onganga – Chairperson of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR)

This nomination reinforces the Government’s commitment to advancing human rights and constitutionalism, as part of the broader governance and justice reforms under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

All the above nominations have been formally submitted to the National Assembly for consideration and approval, in line with constitutional and legal provisions.
