Eldoret-based musician Ricc Berry has taken it upon himself to champion artists from his hometown, pushing for equal opportunities like those enjoyed by creatives from other regions.
The star recently went public with a heartfelt plea to content creator Oga Obinna, urging him to stop overlooking Eldoret talent and accord them space on his popular show.
In a video seen by Nairobi News, Ricc Berry emphasised that Eldoret is a hotbed of talent and that local creatives would deeply appreciate being featured on Obinna’s platform.

He pointed out that while Obinna consistently hosts artists from across the country, Eldoret voices have remained noticeably absent.
According to Ricc Berry, an appearance on Oga Obinna’s show would give Eldoret musicians a valuable platform to showcase the town’s vibrant and diverse creative scene.
He further highlighted that Eldoret boasts many compelling stories worth sharing with the world, stories that would enrich Obinna’s content.
The musician also noted that featuring Eldoret artists would be mutually beneficial, helping Obinna grow his audience on YouTube and other platforms.
“This one goes to Obinna, uta host wasanii from Eldoret lini? Hata tukiku-inbox hatupati attention. We have a lot to share about the Eldoret art industry. So tafadhali, nataka kurepresent wasanii wa Eldoret kwa show yako. When this message gets to you, tafadhali respond. Hata Eldoret kuna stories. Kuna vitu zitafanya show yako ibambe, and we have to talk about the Eldoret art industry,” he said.

His message quickly gained traction, with fellow Eldoret creatives and fans flooding the comments section and tagging Obinna in hopes of drawing his attention.
Obinna had not responded to Berry’s plea as at the time of publishing this report.
