Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has sparked online conversations after stepping out wearing a luxury wristwatch reportedly valued at approximately Sh 5.8 million during his meeting with Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka at his Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri County.
The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader’s choice of accessory caught attention as the two opposition figures held discussions amid growing efforts to unite political leaders ahead of the 2027 General Election.
A description accompanying the images identified Gachagua’s timepiece as a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona made from 18-karat yellow gold, one of the prestigious watches associated with the Swiss luxury watchmaker.

The watch was estimated to cost between $38,000 and $45,000, translating to approximately Sh 4.9 million to Sh 5.8 million, depending on the model, condition and prevailing market prices.
