Amason Kingi, the speaker of the Senate, is grieving the sudden death of his father, Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa.
Kingi reflected on a moving recollection from December 2024 as she revealed the terrible news on Sunday.
At Christmas in Mjanaheri village, Kingi danced with his father for the first time as an adult.
He remembered how they happily danced together while expressing gratitude for Mwaruwa’s incredible comeback following years of battling health problems.
Kingi posted on social media, “We were not just celebrating Christmas, but also the gift of your recovery,” and he said he never thought that would be their final dance together.
In his homage, Kingi conveyed his sincere appreciation for his father’s sacrifices and the priceless teachings he taught, especially the value of tenacity.
“You taught me that no matter what, I should never give up.
I’ve come this far in my life because of this lesson,” he said.
In his condolence message to the family, President William Ruto recalled Mwaruwa as a well-respected, forward-thinking, and diligent person.
Moses Wetangula, the speaker of the National Assembly, also sent Kingi’s family his condolences and support during their time of loss.
Kingi ended his homage with a sincere hope for Mzee Mwaruwa’s tranquil rest in paradise, having been profoundly impacted by his father’s influence.
