Three men were arrested in Githika, Kiambu County on Tuesday by police after being found in possession of combat gear, an imitation firearm, marijuana, and other illegal items.
Rogers Okidos, 26, Godfrey Ndiba, 25, and William Rohara, 25, were apprehended by officers from Githika police station, acting on intelligence provided by local residents, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The police carried out a raid at a house in Githangi village, which has long been known as a hotspot for the illegal packaging and sale of marijuana.
During the search, authorities seized an Administration Police smoke jacket, an imitation firearm, 29 rolls of bhang, a rolling pad, Rizla papers, and several other illegal items including mobile phones, a laptop, and various documents believed to be linked to criminal activities.
This raid follows a series of operations in the area aimed at cracking down on the rising cases of drug trafficking and youth involvement in illegal activities.
The suspects were immediately detained and are expected to be arraigned in court where charges related to possession of illegal substances and weapons will be pressed.
The investigation continues, and police are looking into whether the suspects were part of a larger criminal network involved in trafficking or other illegal activities within the region.
