A 77-year-old security guard was found dead in his house at a construction site along Chui Lane in Lang’ata, Nairobi, in a suspected murder incident.
The deceased was identified as George Gondia Wangaya, who worked as a security guard at the construction site.
The deceased’s body was reportedly lying in a pool of blood.
The body was removed and taken to Montezuma Funeral Home, where it is being preserved pending an autopsy.
Police have launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the guard’s death and identify those responsible.
Meanwhile, the decomposing body of a 60-year-old man was discovered in I vumbu Forest, Mbooni West Sub-County, Makueni County.
The deceased was identified as Michael Mutisya Musila, a resident of Ivumbu Village.
The body was discovered by villagers on Sunday, October 4, 2026, approximately 700 meters from his two-roomed house, where he lived alone.
The matter was reported to Kalawani Police Station at about 3.14pm.
The police visited the scene and processed it.
The decomposing body was subsequently removed and taken to Machakos Funeral Home mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.
Police have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death.
And a 42-year-old man was found dead in his house in Kathitini Market, Mukothima Sub-County, Tharaka Nithi County, after residents reported a foul smell coming from the premises.
The incident was reported to Makutano Police Station at about 3pm on Sunday, October 4, 2026, police said.
Police officers who responded to the report found the house locked from inside. They broke down the door and discovered the man’s decomposing body lying on a sofa in the sitting room.
Preliminary inquiries established that he had recently separated from his wife and had been living alone.
Police were also informed that the deceased had allegedly attempted to take his own life twice in the past.
The scene was documented and processed before the body was removed and taken to Marimanti Level IV Hospital Mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death are ongoing.
