How to Stop Getting Emails from TikTok

TikTok has become one of the most popular social media platforms globally, offering a constant stream of short-form videos tailored to users’ preferences. While many users enjoy the content and updates, some may find the frequent emails from TikTok—ranging from promotional messages to activity notifications—overwhelming. If you’re one of those users, the good news is that there are simple ways to stop receiving these emails. This guide explains how to stop getting emails from TikTok effectively, whether you want to unsubscribe from all communications or only certain types.

Adjusting Email Notification Settings on the App

The easiest and most direct way to stop TikTok emails is by changing your notification preferences within the app itself. To do this, open the TikTok app and go to your profile by tapping the “Profile” icon on the bottom right. Once there, tap the three horizontal lines at the top right to access the settings and privacy menu. From here, select “Notifications.”

In the notifications menu, you’ll see various options for how you receive notifications—whether through push alerts, SMS, or email. Tap on “Email notifications.” This will open a list of different email types that TikTok sends, including suggestions, updates, activity notifications, and more. You can toggle off each of these categories individually. If you want to stop all emails entirely, simply switch off all the options listed.

Unsubscribing Through the Email Itself

Another effective method is to unsubscribe directly from the email you received. TikTok, like most companies, includes an “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of their emails. Scroll to the end of any TikTok email and look for text that says “Unsubscribe” or “Manage your email preferences.” Clicking on this link will redirect you to a page where you can choose which types of emails you want to continue receiving, if any.

After you make your selections, confirm the changes. Most email preference updates take effect within a few days, so you may still receive one or two more emails before the changes are fully implemented.

Using Email Filters or Blocking (Optional)

If adjusting settings on TikTok or unsubscribing through email doesn’t work—or if you continue to receive unwanted emails—you can take control through your email provider. Platforms like Gmail, Outlook, or Yahoo Mail allow you to create filters or rules to block or automatically delete emails from specific senders.

For example, in Gmail, you can open a TikTok email, click the three dots in the top-right corner of the email, and choose “Filter messages like this.” Then, choose what you want Gmail to do with such emails—whether to archive them, delete them, or mark them as read. This step ensures that even if TikTok continues to send emails, you won’t see them in your inbox.
