In a notice issued on Thursday by Group Company Secretary Kathryne Maundu, the lender confirmed that Gossip’s appointment had received all requisite regulatory approvals.
The move is part of the strategic realignment of the bank’s board composition announced in 2024.
“The Board congratulates James on his appointment and welcomes him to the NCBA Group,” the statement read.

He is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (UK) and a member of the Securities & Futures Association (UK).
The bank emphasized that Gossip’s appointment reinforces its commitment to strong, independent leadership and sound governance, supporting the group’s long-term growth goals.
Meanwhile, John Gachora will continue to serve as Group Managing Director and CEO of NCBA Group PLC, where he will oversee strategic cohesion across the bank’s pan-African operations and further drive NCBA’s mission of “Inspiring Greatness.”
