TikTok is a fast-moving platform where videos appear and disappear from your feed in seconds. Sometimes, you may scroll past a video, only to realize moments later that you want to rewatch it. The challenge, however, is that TikTok doesn’t have a prominent “recently watched” section like some other platforms. Still, there are ways to recover or find videos you’ve seen recently. Using the Watch History Feature
TikTok introduced a Watch History feature to help users locate previously viewed content. To access it, open the TikTok app and go to your Settings and Privacy section. Under Activity, look for the Watch History option. When you tap on it, you’ll see a list of videos you’ve watched over the last seven days. This list is arranged chronologically, making it easier to find a specific video if you remember roughly when you saw it.

If you don’t see this feature in your app, you may need to update to the latest version of TikTok or wait for the feature to become available in your region, as it may be rolled out gradually.
Searching Through TikTok’s Search Function
If the Watch History feature isn’t available or you didn’t enable it before, you can try using the search bar on TikTok. Sometimes, typing keywords you remember from the video’s caption, music, or comments can help you find it again. TikTok’s algorithm is smart enough to sometimes prioritize content you’ve previously interacted with. You can also tap the filter icon after searching to sort results by most recent, which may narrow down your search more effectively.
Checking Your Liked Videos
Another way to recover a TikTok you recently watched is by checking your liked videos. If you double-tapped or hit the heart icon on a video, it will be saved in your Liked tab under your profile. This is an easy way to find videos you intentionally wanted to revisit. However, this only works if you remember liking the video.
Exploring Browser Data or Activity Downloads
For those who want a full list of their activity, TikTok allows users to request a copy of their data. Go to Settings and Privacy, then tap on Account, followed by Download Your Data. Once the file is ready, you’ll receive a document with a detailed history, including your watched videos, search history, and more. Keep in mind this process can take up to four days, and the data comes in a format that may require effort to go through.
