How to Screen Record on TikTok

TikTok has become one of the most popular platforms for short videos, trends, tutorials, and entertainment. Sometimes, you might come across a video you’d like to keep for reference, review later, or share with friends offline. While TikTok allows users to download some videos, not all videos have the download feature enabled. In such cases, screen recording becomes the best option. Below is a detailed guide on how to screen record TikTok videos using different devices and tools.

Using Screen Recording on iPhone

Most iPhones running iOS 11 or later come with a built-in screen recording feature.

Step 1: Enable Screen Recording in Control Center

  • Go to Settings > Control Center > Customize Controls.
  • Tap the green + icon next to Screen Recording to add it to your Control Center.

Step 2: Open TikTok and Prepare to Record

  • Launch the TikTok app and go to the video you want to record.
  • Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen (or up from the bottom on older models) to open the Control Center.

Step 3: Start Recording

  • Tap the record button (a solid circle inside another circle).

Step 4: Stop and Save

  • Swipe down again to stop the recording.
  • The recorded video will be saved in your Gallery or Files app.

Using Third-Party Apps

If your device doesn’t have a built-in screen recorder, several reliable third-party apps are available:

  • AZ Screen Recorder (Android): Free, easy to use, and allows high-quality screen recordings.
  • DU Recorder (iOS/Android): Offers screen recording, editing, and livestream features.
  • OBS Studio (Windows/Mac): Ideal for advanced users wanting to screen record from a desktop.

Recording TikTok on PC or Mac

You can also record TikTok videos viewed through a browser on your computer.

Using OBS Studio (Windows/Mac/Linux)

  • Download and install OBS Studio from obsproject.com.
  • Set up a new screen capture source.
  • Open TikTok on your browser and navigate to the video.
  • Start recording in OBS. When finished, stop the recording and find the file in your designated save folder.

Important Considerations

  • Respect Copyright: Always ask for permission if you intend to repost someone else’s content.
  • Avoid Misuse: Don’t record private or sensitive content without consent.
  • Storage Space: Ensure your device has enough storage before recording videos.
