Celebrated emcee John Maina, known to many as MC Fullstop is dead, Nairobi News has learnt.
MC Fullstop died on Friday, August 1, 2025, after a prolonged battle with lung tuberculosis.
News of MC Fullstop’s demise went viral on social media on the aforementioned date although his family is yet to confirm.
According to reports reaching Nairobi News, Fullstop had been in and out of hospital for a couple of months and passed on while receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

News of MC Fullstop’s demise broke the hearts of countless Kenyans who took to different social media platforms to mourn him while condoling with his family and close friends.
Fullstop’s death came about four years after he publicly opened up about his struggle with tuberculosis.
Through a tweet shared via his official Twitter account, MC Fullstop disclosed that he had lost full function in one lung due to TB infection in 2021.
A year later, the entertainer revealed that throat TB had also attacked him, severely affecting his voice.
Then, the star shared that the illness had affected his life in a major way with basic activities such as running and walking becoming increasingly difficult.
MC Fullstop informed his fans that he would take a break from the stage as he sought treatment.

It should be noted that Fullstop also fought a death hoax after reports indicated that he had died.
The rumours of his death started when a colleague ,DJ Smash shared a video of the legendary reggae hyper man on Facebook.
The video showed MC Fullstop paying tribute to fallen broadcast journalist Leonard Mambo Mbotela.
“I want to say to one of the Veteran MC’s and radio broad casters Leornad Mbotela .They inspired as back in the day before we had TV’s and internet.” he said.
Smash shared the video and captioned it;
“Rest in Peace mzee”
Since Mbotela died a while back people assumed that John was no more.
MC Fullstop’s death hoax was however shut down by the star himself who assured his fans that he was still alive.
He blasted netizens for sharing unconfirmed news about his health as he shared an update about how he was doing.
