Bahati under fire: Fans slam singer for calling them Poor, remind him of orphanage days

Singer Bahati lives rent free in the heads of many Kenyans and knows exactly what to do to get people talking.

In a bid to create hype and even push his wife, Diana B’s new song Bibi YA Tajiri to even greater heights, the musician on Saturday, September 6, took to social media to torment netizens.

In an Facebook post sighted by Nairobi News, Bahati called most people who follow and support him poor.

Pride Before Fall

Bahati blatantly called out his haters claiming no one has the moral authority to hate on him, especially if they are not rich.

The artist reiterated that anyone who wants to troll him should first build a mansion, own a Mercedes Benz G Wagon and a Range Rover.

He insisted that his poor critics should focus on working hard to become like him instead of using all their energy on hating him.

“I only allow you to hate on me if you have a mansion, G Wagon and a Range Rover at your parking. The rest is noise making and you should be busy working hard to become like me,” he wrote.

Fans Turn Against Bahati

His feedback did not auger down well with most of his fans and other Kenyans who reprimanded him for being too proud.

Many netizens flocked the comments section of his post to warn him not to look down on the very people who supported him, making him the rich celebrity he is today.

Others even reminded him of his past as a homeless boy who was helped by a Mathare-based children’s home.

His post may be all for clout and attracting attention which would later be diverted to Diana B’s new song but his fans noted that he had crossed the line with his statement.
