Man who claimed to be president Ruto’s son found in parliament buildings

A 19-year-old man who claimed to be President William Ruto’s son was found inside Parliament buildings on the night of August 7, 2025.

According to court documents, the man, identified as Nelson Ibrahim Kidero also known as Nelson Murithi was discovered in the parking area of Bunge Towers without lawful authorization.

Kidero appeared in court on Thursday, where he was charged with unlawfully entering parliamentary precincts, an offence under Section 31(1)(a) and Section 31(2) of the Parliamentary Powers and Privileges Act, 2017.

He was released on condition that he does not repeat the offence within the next year.

Senior Principal Magistrate Mark Ekhubi ordered that Kidero be placed under the care of his uncle, who was directed to ensure the young man receives medical attention and proper guidance.

During the hearing, the magistrate also encouraged Kidero to consider a future in law and possibly become a magistrate himself.

However, Kidero declined the suggestion, stating that his dream is to become a barista.

“Since this young man was brought before the court, efforts have been made to reach his family. Please tell his father to take more interest in his son’s wellbeing,” Magistrate Ekhubi told the uncle, who in turn assured the court he would take full responsibility for Kidero’s welfare.
