Police seize cannabis worth Sh 2 million, arrest suspect in Timboroa Highway operation


Police officers in Timboroa have intercepted a major drug trafficking attempt, recovering cannabis with an estimated street value of Sh 2 million and arresting one suspect in a targeted operation along the Eldoret–Nakuru Highway.

The operation, carried out on October 13, 2025, followed a tip-off from members of the public.

Officers from Timboroa Police Station acted swiftly on the credible intelligence and stopped a metallic grey Toyota Noah, registration number KCE 542R, suspected to be ferrying illegal drugs.

A thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of four sacks containing 759 brooms of cannabis.

The illicit consignment was seized as evidence, and the vehicle was impounded at the police station.

One suspect was apprehended at the scene and is currently in custody, awaiting formal processing and arraignment in court.

In a statement, the National Police Service (NPS) praised the officers for their vigilance and decisive action.

“This successful operation highlights the dedication of our officers in combating drug trafficking. We remain steadfast in our commitment to disrupting narcotics networks and protecting our communities from the harmful effects of illegal drugs,” the NPS said.

The Service also urged the public to continue supporting law enforcement by providing timely and actionable information, stressing that community cooperation remains vital in the fight against crime.

This latest bust underscores the ongoing nationwide efforts to curb the flow of narcotics and dismantle the supply chains that threaten public safety and health.
