Most importantly, he won his first junior ITF match at a J5 Darwin tournament in May 2022. Remarkably, he also won his first ITF junior title at the J5 Lautoka event in Fiji, in November that year. As a result, he became the youngest male champion on the ITF junior tour that year at 13 years old.

In 2023, he began the season with a competitive play in the Australian Open qualifying before collecting a series of junior titles. First, he won his second ITF crown at the J30 Christiansted tournament in the Virgin Islands. Second, a third title at a J60 event in Darwin and lastly, at a J60 Nonthaburi tournament in Thailand.

The following year, he made his junior Grand Slam debut at the Australian Open boys’ singles. Later that year, he made it into the Under-18 top 100 and won his seventh ITF junior title at a New Zealand J100 event in Christchurch. Cruz Hewitt first became pro at 14 years old. He qualified at an ITF M25 event in Darwin in September 2023 and won two tight tie-break matches.

Later on, he earned a wildcard into an M15 Bali main draw in August 2024 and secured his first professional victory with a straight-sets win over the Dutch tennis player, Thijmen Loof.
