At least 10 killed, 32 injured in bus crash in Eastern Mexico

At least 10 people have been confirmed dead and 32 others injured following a bus accident in eastern Mexico, authorities in the state of Veracruz reported on Thursday.

The crash occurred on Christmas Eve in the town of Zontecomatlán as the bus was traveling from Mexico City to the village of Chicontepec.

According to a statement from the Zontecomatlán mayor’s office, the victims include nine adults and one child.

Local authorities also released a list of the injured passengers, along with details of the hospitals where they are receiving treatment.

Emergency services responded to the scene and transported the injured for medical care.

Fatal road accidents involving buses and trucks are relatively common in Mexico, often attributed to factors such as speeding or mechanical failure.

In a similar incident in late November, at least 10 people were killed and 20 others injured in a bus crash in the western state of Michoacán.
