Mungai Eve Claps Back At Critics After Claims She’s Been Struggling Financially

Kenyan digital content creator Mungai Eve has finally broken her silence after weeks of intense online speculation that she was facing financial difficulties following her reduced presence in content creation.

The popular influencer, who rose to fame through celebrity interviews and viral YouTube content, addressed the rumours directly, making it clear that she is neither broke nor looking for sympathy from the public.

Through a series of Instagram Stories, Eve dismissed claims that she needed financial help, saying critics had unfairly concluded that she was struggling simply because she was no longer producing content as frequently as before:

“Sitaki mchango.”

“Guys, I don’t need anyone’s financial support. I am doing so well, and God always got me, jameni. Sitaki mchango. What impression do I give, jameni?” she added.

She further questioned why many people had become so invested in her personal finances, insisting that stepping away from the spotlight did not mean she had fallen on hard times.

“The only support I need is for you to patronise my new baby, ek_Istore. Guys, support one of my businesses so I can get money to travel, wear bikinis, or stay without clothes for all of you,” Mungai Eve joked.

Why fans started speculating

The rumours intensified after Lang’ata MP and media personality Jalang’o publicly encouraged Eve to return to content creation during a birthday celebration.

While introducing her to guests, Jalang’o praised her entrepreneurial journey but urged her not to abandon the career that made her one of Kenya’s biggest online personalities.

“Guys, go out there and support her brand. She sells iPhones now. And also go back and create content; that is the Eve we knew, right? Go out there, create content, and be big. Always hustle out there. Thank you so much, my sister.”

His remarks quickly sparked debate online, with some fans interpreting them as a sign that Eve’s new business wasn’t doing well.

Mungai Eve says she’s doing just fine

Responding to the growing criticism, Eve maintained that she had intentionally shifted part of her focus to business and other income streams rather than relying solely on content creation.

Her latest posts suggested that many social media users wrongly assume a creator is struggling simply because they are no longer constantly visible online.

The influencer’s message was clear: success doesn’t always have to be loud or constantly displayed on social media.

Life after Director Trevor

The conversation surrounding Eve’s finances has also been fueled by her highly publicised split from former partner and director, Director Trevor, in early 2024.

The breakup marked the end of one of Kenya’s most successful digital partnerships.

Trevor retained control of several digital platforms they had built together, forcing Eve to rebuild her brand independently.

Despite the setback, Eve gradually reinvented herself by venturing into business, including smartphone sales and influencer marketing, while maintaining a strong social media presence.

Over the past year, she has repeatedly dismissed rumours surrounding her personal life, including claims that she regretted ending her relationship or was battling emotional and financial problems.

Fans rally behind her

Following her response, many of Eve’s supporters applauded her for refusing to let online criticism define her success.

Others noted that content creators often diversify their income through businesses, brand partnerships, investments and endorsements, meaning reduced online activity does not necessarily reflect financial hardship.

For now, Mungai Eve appears determined to silence the rumours on her own terms, reminding critics that not every successful entrepreneur needs to constantly broadcast every move online.

Her latest response serves as a firm reminder that stepping away from regular content creation should not automatically be mistaken for financial distress, as she continues to focus on growing her business while keeping fans guessing about what comes next.
