Mixed reactions as Ruto’s former point man at the Coast Mohammed Ali meets Rigathi Gachagua

Nyali Member of Parliament Mohammed Ali has caused a melee on social media after sharing a video of himself at a lunch meeting with former Deputy President and Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua.

Ali, who was once one of President William Ruto’s strongest supporters from the Coast, stunned many with his meeting with Gachagua, a sworn rival of William Ruto.

The Nyali MP on Sunday, December 28, posted a video of himself enjoying a sumptuous lunch with Gachagua at a beach hotel down at the Coast.

In the video, the two politicians are seen engaging cordially, in a move that has seemingly sent shivers down the spines of William Ruto’s supporters.

In his caption, Ali referred to Gachagua as a friend as he revealed how pleased he was to have caught up with the former DP and his family.

He also poked fun at his Christian fans for not inviting him for the festive season.

“Had a pleasant time with H.E. Rigathi Gachagua, EGH, this afternoon. Thoroughly enjoyed the scrumptious lunch prepared and the opportunity to catch up with a dear friend and his family. Si mliringa kunialika Sikukuu. Leo ni sherehe full kipupwe, kula, kucheka na kujienjoy. Happy Holidays Wakenya wenzangu,” he captioned.

Supporters Divided

Well, while a section of his followers and supporters lauded him for the meeting and wished him all the best in whatever discussion he had with the Democracy for the Citizens Party leader, many mauled him mercilessly.
