A 32-year-old man was found dead in a pit latrine after a suspected murder in Mirangine area, Nyandarua County.
Police suspect Simon Mutitu was killed and his body abandoned in the toilet on January 9. His house had been locked with a padlock from outside when his brother went to check on him.
He later traced his body to the toilet, which is a few meters away from his house. The body was in a sitting position with his trouser down and half naked.
Police said the body had multiple bruises when it was found and it indicated he was killed elsewhere and taken to the toilet.
The motive of the murder is yet to be known, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

In Dandora, Nairobi County, a man was stoned to death in a failed house breaking incident. His two suspected accomplices managed to escape the scene.
The suspects are said to have broken into a house and stole a radio, a six-kilo gas cylinder, two basins and a cloth bucket. An alarm was raised alerting locals who responded by stoning the victim to death.
Police moved the body to the mortuary pending an identification and autopsy as they warned against mob lynching.
Police want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for processing and possible prosecution.
Mob lynching incidents have been on the rise both in urban and rural areas amid calls for action to tame the trend. Up to three cases are reported daily, police say.
