Legendary Tanzanian gospel singer Rose Muhando is officially off the market, Nairobi News has learnt, marking a new chapter in the celebrated musician’s personal life.
Apparently, Muhando recently officiated her union with a Kenyan pastor, Robert Lumbasi, in a private wedding ceremony that took place a couple of weeks ago.
The ceremony was reportedly attended by only a few close friends and family members, as the couple chose to keep the event low-key and away from the public eye.

News of Muhando’s marriage to Lumbasi was first made public by the latter during a recent sermon at his church in Kenya, where he surprised congregants with the revelation.
During the church service, Pastor Lumbasi cautioned men against pursuing Rose and openly revealed that he had already paid her dowry and officially officiated their union.
His remarks immediately sparked excitement and curiosity among church members and gospel music fans alike.
The pastor further disclosed that he paid dowry for Muhando in 2023 and that the two have been together ever since, nurturing their relationship privately before finally formalising it.
Lumbasi noted that he is happy to have married Muhando, adding that their union will enable them to take God’s ministry to a whole new level by working together in faith and service.
“Men in this church should please not approach Rose. She is already taken. She is now a Luhya. It was very private. It is something that started a long time ago. The dowry has been paid. Everything is done. I remember going to Tanzania to pay dowry in 2023, and they called me from State House and said it is Kenya marrying Tanzania. I love this woman. I respect this woman,” he revealed.

The latest development impressed many netizens, especially Muhando’s fans, who took to different social media platforms to congratulate the couple and wish them well in their marriage.
It should be noted that the marriage, or rather the wedding, comes just a couple of years after Rose Muhando previously disclosed that she had never been married because she was yet to find a man who loved her in line with biblical teachings.
In her past revelations, the Kiatu Kivue hitmaker stated that she raised her three children alone through divine wisdom, perseverance, and hard work, making her journey both inspiring and admirable to many of her followers.
