60-year-old man fatally stabbed in argument over a tree in Luanda, Vihiga County


Detectives are investigating an incident where a 60-year-old man was stabbed and killed in an argument over cutting of a tree in Luanda, Vihiga County.

The body of Jackton Khakili was found in his compound with cuts in the head and neck.

Police visited the scene and recovered the killer weapon. The panga was hidden under a mattress.

Police said the suspect was arrested pending interrogation and other procedures while the body was moved to the mortuary.

It was established the assailant who was the son to the deceased had argued over plans to cut trees in the area.

This degenerated to a fight that left the man dead.

In Moyale, Marsabit County, a 24-year-old man was found murdered in a forest. The motive of the murder of Jamal Jarma Jarso was not known. His motorcycle was found parked near a local forest while the body was found in bushes in a pool of blood with multiple bullet wounds.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures, police said.

In Tala, Machakos County, a man was stabbed and killed by his cousin in a domestic fight.

Police said Philip Mwema was stabbed in the neck and chest and died on the spot in the fight.

The assailant escaped the scene after the murder and police said they were looking for him for grilling.

The body of the deceased was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

In Roreti, Bureti, Kericho County, one Emmanuel Kiprotich, 19 was stabbed and killed in a land dispute.

The accused is a cousin to the deceased, police said. They had argued over a planned lease of a piece of land in the area when the drama turned tragic.

The assailant escaped the scene with the killer weapon, police said adding they were still hunting for the suspect for grilling and possible arraignment.
