Siblings fatally kick their brother in dispute over a pair of shoes in Ndori, Siaya County


Detectives are investigating an incident where a man was punched and kicked to death in a dispute over a pair of shoes in a village in Ndori, Siaya County.

The body of the deceased was found lying in his mother’s house long after the murder.

Police said the deceased had a swollen head out of the kicks and blows he received in the assault.

The assailants escaped the scene after the murder, police said adding the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other investigations.

Police said they were looking for the brothers for grilling over the murder.

Meanwhile, a two-year-old boy drowned in a water tank outside their house in Nyamarambe, Kisii County.

Police said the boy was playing with his siblings outside their house when he slipped into the 100 liters water tank.

The tank was full of water then and the mother of the child said she found him drowned therein.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending other procedures.

The incident left the family devastated.

And 11 people were on Monday killed in separate road accidents reported in the country.

Police said the victims included three riders, three passengers, two pedestrians, a driver and a pillion passenger.

The accidents left 13 other people with serious injuries and they included six passengers, three riders, two drivers and pedestrians.

The injured were rushed to the hospital for attention. There is a campaign to address the menace.

On Monday night, eight more people were killed in separate accidents bringing to 19, the number of those killed that day.

The victims included three pedestrians, two riders, two passengers and a driver while 18 people who included five pedestrians, five riders and two passengers were injured in the accidents.
