KPA CEO William Ruto Involved in Road Accident, Daughter Dies


Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Chief Executive Officer William Ruto was on Friday evening involved in a tragic road accident along the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway near Voi in which his daughter died.

In a staff notice issued on Saturday, the authority confirmed the fatality and extended condolences to the family during what it described as a moment of “immense grief.”

“We extend our thoughts and deepest condolences to Capt. Ruto and his family during this time of immense grief,” the statement read.

KPA said the CEO and other members of his family survived the accident and are currently in stable condition under close medical supervision. The authority added that it remains hopeful for their full and swift recovery.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident are ongoing.

The authority also expressed appreciation to Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir and Taita Taveta Governor Andrew Mwadime for their swift response and support following the incident.
