Police have launched investigations into the suspected murder of a 35-year-old woman whose body was found inside her shop in Mlolongo, Machakos County.
According to police, the incident happened on June 18 and was reported by the deceased’s brother after he discovered his sister, Agnes Muli, lying motionless inside the business premises. Police officers visited the scene and found the woman lying in a pool of blood.
Police said she had sustained a deep cut wound to the head, while a piece of cloth had been tied around her neck.
Crime scene investigators documented the scene before the body was removed to Shalom Hospital Mortuary, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Police have opened investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing and identify those responsible. No arrests had been reported by the time the incident report was filed.
Elsewhere, police in Kilifi County have launched investigations into the murder of a 56-year-old man who was found dead inside his house in Chonyi Sub-County.
Police officers visited the scene and found the body of Mwasambu Mbura lying in a pool of blood inside his house.
Investigators said the deceased had sustained a deep cut to the middle of the head, with a fractured skull. Blood was also seen oozing from his mouth, ears and nose.
According to the deceased’s cousin, Mwasambu had previously been accused of practising witchcraft by some villagers and members of his extended family.
Police have not established whether those allegations were linked to the killing, and investigations are ongoing.
The scene was processed and documented before the body was moved to the Kilifi Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination. No arrests had been reported by the time the police filed the incident report.
