Police in Emuhaya Sub-County, Vihiga County, have launched investigations into the killing of a 48-year-old man whose body was discovered beside a footpath in Ipali Location.
According to police the incident happened on June 24 and members of the public alerted authorities after finding the body of Fred Oyalo lying near a footpath at Mwichekhe Village.
Officers who visited the scene established that the deceased had sustained deep cuts on his legs and bruises around the neck, indicating that he may have been attacked before his death.
The body was found lying under trees near the path and the scene was processed by investigators as detectives commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident and the motive behind the killing.
The body was later moved to Dophil Hospital Mortuary for preservation pending a post-mortem examination.
No arrests had been reported by the time of the incident report, and investigations are ongoing.And police in Murang’a South Sub-County have launched investigations into the murder of a 55-year-old man whose body was found lying on a road in Kangangu South area on Wednesday morning.
According to police, a resident became concerned after noticing a crowd gathered about two kilometres from his home. Upon going to the scene, he found the lifeless body of his neighbour, David Mungai, popularly known as “Soy”, lying on the road.
The witness observed blood oozing from the deceased’s chest and immediately alerted the area chief, who reported the incident to police.
A team of officers visited the scene and confirmed the death.
Preliminary examination revealed that the deceased had sustained a deep stab wound on the left side of the chest, believed to have caused his death.
Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) officers processed the scene and documented evidence before the body was removed and taken to General Kago Hospital mortuary in Thika for preservation pending a post-mortem examination.
No arrests had been made by the time of the report, and investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing and identify those responsible.
