Content creator Prity Vishy has once again spoken candidly about her highly publicized relationship with musician Stivo Simple Boy, revealing that one of the biggest reasons their romance failed was the lack of acceptance from the singer’s family.
Speaking during a recent interview, Vishy disclosed that despite trying to make the relationship work, she constantly felt unwelcome, alleging that Stivo’s relatives never embraced her as part of the family.
According to the influencer, tribal differences played a significant role in the strained relationship with the musician’s family.
“His family never accepted me. His mother didn’t like the community I come from, and even his brothers never accepted me,” Vishy said.
Why Their Relationship Crumbled
Vishy explained that while many Kenyans have speculated about what caused their breakup, the issues ran much deeper than what was visible on social media.
She maintained that a relationship cannot thrive without support from close family members, adding that constantly feeling unwanted made it difficult for her to envision a future with the rapper.
The influencer noted that she eventually made the difficult decision to walk away, saying she chose peace over forcing a relationship that appeared to face resistance from those closest to Stivo.
Their Love Story Captivated Kenyans
Prity Vishy and Stivo Simple Boy became one of Kenya’s most talked-about celebrity couples after publicly confirming their relationship around 2019.
At the time, Stivo’s music career was rapidly taking off following the success of his hit song Vijana Tuwache Mihadarati, while Vishy was also gaining popularity online through content creation and acting.
Although the couple attracted a loyal fanbase, their relationship came to an end in 2022, with both parties later making conflicting claims about what led to the split.

In previous interviews, Vishy has reflected on their relationship, suggesting that it was more complicated than many people realized.
She once stated:

She also revealed that the two first met at a recording studio before becoming close friends, with Stivo later introducing her publicly as his girlfriend as his career gained momentum.

Earlier this year, Stivo questioned Vishy’s celebrity status during an interview, claiming her fame stemmed largely from their former relationship.
Responding through Instagram, Vishy fired back, writing:
“Watu wengine ni aibu kuwaita ex wako.”
She also dismissed claims that she used the relationship to build her online following, insisting she worked hard to establish her own brand.
“I worked to be the person I’m now,” she stated, adding that if dating Stivo automatically made someone famous, then his other former partners would have achieved similar popularity.

Since their breakup, both personalities have taken different paths in life.
Stivo Simple Boy later entered another relationship and welcomed a child before confirming that the relationship had also ended earlier this year.
