Police in Uriri Sub-county, Migori County, have launched investigations after the body of an unidentified man was found dumped in a thicket with a fatal neck injury.
According to police, the incident was reported at Mukuyu Police Station on Tuesday by a local resident, who alerted authorities after discovering the body in Mukuyu C Village, South Kanyamkago Location.
Police officers visited the scene and found the body of an unknown African male adult lying in a bush beside a road.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased had a visible deep injury on the left side of the neck, believed to have been inflicted using a sharp object.
Crime scene investigators processed and documented the scene before the body was moved to the Migori County Referral Hospital Mortuary, where it is awaiting identification and a post-mortem examination.
Police have launched investigations to establish the identity of the deceased, the circumstances surrounding the killing, and those responsible.
Elsewhere, police in Nandi County have launched investigations into the death of a 35-year-old man whose body was found lying outside a residence in Himaki Centre.
The deceased, identified as Abraham Cheruyiot Chirchir, was found dead on Sunday morning at the entrance of the home a local in Himaki Centre, Nandi East Sub-county.
Police established that the deceased, who was living with a disability and hailed from Cheptilil Sublocation, had no visible physical injuries on his body.
Investigators documented and processed the scene before the body was moved to Nandi Hills Sub-County Hospital Mortuary, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
