Veteran filmmaker and content creator Abel Mutua and his wife Judy Nyawira have every reason to celebrate after their only daughter, Stephanie Mumbua, popularly known as Mumbus, achieved a major leadership milestone at school.
Mumbus was recently elected one of the student presidents at Brookhurst International School’s Kiserian Campus, becoming part of the institution’s Student Council for the 2026–2027 academic year.
The announcement was made by the school through its official social media pages, where it unveiled the incoming student leaders while appreciating the outgoing council for its service.
The achievement not only highlighted Mumbus’ leadership qualities but also inadvertently answered a question that many of Abel Mutua’s fans had been asking for yearswhere the celebrity couple’s daughter studies.
For a long time, Abel and Judy had deliberately kept details about their daughter’s school private despite constant curiosity from fans.
However, Brookhurst International School’s announcement confirmed that the teenager is enrolled at the prestigious Kiserian campus.

Sharing photos of Mumbus in school uniform alongside members of the newly elected student council, the award-winning storyteller expressed his excitement and pride.

Earlier this year, she won praise after discussing financial literacy lessons she was taking during the school holidays, even joking that after calculating how much her parents had spent raising her, she would stop asking them for money.
The clip sparked conversations about teaching children financial responsibility at an early age.
She has also openly explained why she transitioned from Kenya’s former 8-4-4 education system to the Cambridge curriculum, saying she preferred an education model that allows students to pursue creative talents instead of following rigid career paths.
“I feel like 8-4-4 is inflexible,” she previously said while explaining her decision to pursue an international curriculum.
Just days before her election, Mumbus also warmed hearts after Abel Mutua surprised her with a brand-new piano only two hours after she requested one, a gesture that showcased the close bond between father and daughter.
