Police in Migori County have launched investigations into the death of a 20-year-old man who was allegedly stabbed while leaving a Prince Indah music concert at Tolan Hotel.
Hezron Musishi Luvonga, cleaner at Elegant Hotel, was attacked at about 1am on Saturday, August 29, by an unknown person while leaving the concert in Suna West Sub-County.
Luvonga was stabbed in the stomach with a knife before being rushed to Ombo Mission Hospital for treatment.
He was later referred to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for specialised care but succumbed to his injuries at about 3am on Sunday while undergoing treatment.
His body was moved to the facility’s mortuary pending a postmortem examination.
Police have launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the stabbing and identify the assailant.
The motive of the incident was not immediately known.
Elsewhere, police in Masaba North, Nyamira County launched investigations after the body of an unidentified man was found within the compound of Kebuko Catholic Church.
The body was discovered at about 7am on Sunday, August 30, at Kebuko C Village in Esani Location.
Police visited the scene and found the body of a man estimated to be 56 years old lying on his back within the church compound.
The man was partially clothed, with blood oozing from his mouth.
The scene was documented and processed by police officers before the body was removed and taken to Gucha Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending an autopsy.
Police are yet to establish the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding his death.
Investigations are ongoing as detectives seek to determine whether the man was killed elsewhere and his body dumped at the church compound or died at the scene.
