Ruto Sends Condolences to President Samia After Husband’s Death


President William Ruto has expressed his condolences to Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan following the death of her husband, Hafidh Ameir Hassan.

In a message shared on Monday, Ruto said he received the news with “deep sorrow,” extending his condolences to President Samia, her family and the people of Tanzania.

“President Samia has lost a lifelong companion, her children a beloved father, and Tanzania a distinguished son,” Ruto said.

The Kenyan President assured Tanzania of Kenya’s solidarity during the period of mourning, saying the country stands with its Tanzanian neighbours in their moment of grief.

“May Almighty God comfort President Samia and her family, give them strength through this difficult time, and grant Hafidh Ameir Hassan eternal rest,” Ruto added.

Hafidh, who was 73, died on Monday while undergoing treatment for a heart condition in Zanzibar.
