Police in Kakamega East arrested a 32-year-old woman after her husband died from injuries sustained in an alleged stabbing incident at their home in Illesi Location.
The incident occurred on September 11, 2026, at about 8pm in Iyenga Village, Mugomari Sub-location.
The deceased, identified as David Livasia, 32, was reportedly heard screaming by his sister-in-law who rushed to his house.
She told police that she found Livasia’s wife also aged 32, allegedly holding a kitchen knife after stabbing him on the right side of his back.
Livasia was rushed to St. Elizabeth Mukumu Hospital before being referred to Kakamega Level Four Hospital for specialised treatment. He later succumbed to his injuries.
Police officers visited the scene and arrested the suspect.
A kitchen knife reportedly stained with blood was recovered at the scene and secured as an exhibit.
Officers also visited the hospital, and the deceased’s body was moved to the facility’s mortuary pending a postmortem examination.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged stabbing.
Meanwhile, police in Suba North, Homa Bay County, have launched investigations into the death of an unidentified man whose body was found in a rented house in Obambo Village.
The body was discovered on September 11, 2026, in Waundo Sub-location, Gembe East Location.
The deceased had suffered multiple injuries, including a deep wound on the left side of the head and left ear, which police suspect were inflicted with a sharp object.
He also had several wounds on his legs, bruises on the forehead and chest, and a fracture on the left ankle.
Preliminary investigations indicated that unknown individuals had brought the man into the rented house while he was still alive. He later reportedly succumbed to his injuries.
The scene was processed, and necessary police action was taken. The body was moved to Suba North Sub-County Hospital Mortuary, where it is being preserved pending an autopsy and identification.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s injuries and death.
