Child Pornography Suspect Arrested In Mombasa

A 26-year-old was arrested for distributing child pornographic materials, thanks to relentless efforts by detectives from the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit (AHTCPU) Mombasa.

Acting on a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), detectives trailed and apprehended Ramadhan Yahya Hussein in Majengo area.

Hussein has been distributing child pornographic materials via his Gmail account and trading in Child Sexual Abuse Materials (CSAM), investigators said.

Upon his arrest, Hussein led detectives to his house in Likoni Maweni village.

A thorough search yielded two mobile phones, a memory card, and various identification documents.

The recovered items are now undergoing forensic analysis to determine the extent of his online child exploitation activities.

Meanwhile, Hussein remains in police custody as the investigation continues.

Meanwhile a team of officers from Charidende GSU camp and Charidende police station in Tana River arrested two suspects and seized an AK-47 rifle.

The arrest follows a distress report of a shooting incident in Hambaburo area, where two assailants targeted four herders tending their livestock, sending them running for their lives in a panic.

Responding swiftly, the officers conducted a thorough search of a Manyatta house linked to one of the suspects, leading to the following recoveries: an AK-47, snugly wrapped in sacks and concealed under the floor, two AK-47 magazines and 118 rounds of 7.62 x 39mm ammunition.

The suspects, Osman Muhumed, 31 and Adhan Ahmed, 19 are now in police custody, undergoing processing pending arraignment.

The recovered firearm, magazines, and ammunition are securely stored as exhibits.

Incidents of insecurity have been reported in the area amid efforts to address them.
