Disabling the Repost Feature on Your Account
To turn off the ability for others to repost your content, open the TikTok app and navigate to your profile. Tap the menu icon, usually represented by three lines at the top right of the screen, then select “Settings and privacy.” In the settings menu, go to “Privacy” and look for the option labeled “Repost.” Tap on it, and you’ll find a toggle switch that allows you to enable or disable reposts. Stopping Reposted Content from Appearing on Your Feed
If you’re more concerned about seeing reposted content from others in your feed, TikTok also lets you adjust how reposted videos appear. While there is currently no direct setting to completely remove reposts from the For You Page, you can long-press on a reposted video and choose “Not interested.” Doing this repeatedly will signal to TikTok’s algorithm that you prefer original content, gradually reducing the number of reposted videos shown to you.
Un-Reposting a Video You Shared
If you’ve accidentally reposted a video or changed your mind, you can easily undo it. Go to the video in question, tap the share arrow, and you will see the repost icon highlighted. Tap it again, and TikTok will remove the repost from your followers’ feeds. This is helpful if you realize the content doesn’t align with your values or if you simply reposted it by mistake.
