Alive and kicking: Moses Wetangula shuts down death hoax with latest video while in Naivasha

Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula has come out strongly to shut down claims that he is dead, following widespread rumours that had circulated online.

The seasoned politician, through his official social media pages, vehemently dismantled the death hoax by sharing a video of himself, putting to rest the false reports that had caused concern among Kenyans.

Taking to his Facebook page on Monday, January 19, Wetangula posted a video of himself while in Naivasha, where he is currently on official Parliamentary duties.

The clip showed the Speaker relaxed and composed as he went about his work away from Nairobi.

In the video, Wetangula appeared happy, in a jovial mood, and in good health, effectively countering claims that had suggested otherwise.

His appearance alone was enough to reassure the public that he was doing well.

Through the caption accompanying the video, the August House Speaker confirmed that he is very much alive and kicking, contrary to the earlier reports that had gone viral across various social media platforms.

He further assured Kenyans that he remains focused on his responsibilities, stating that he is actively engaged in performing his duties as the Speaker of the National Assembly.

“Still alive, still kicking, still on duty. Handling Parliamentary duties in Naivasha,” he wrote.

Wetangula’s post comes just days after rumour mills went into overdrive, with unverified reports alleging his death spreading rapidly online.

The misinformation caused confusion and sparked widespread discussion, especially on social media.

Countless social media pages had even gone as far as insinuating that the Speaker of the National Assembly had died and was being preserved at the Lee Funeral Home, claims that have now been completely debunked.

With his latest post, it is now clear that the reports were nothing more than baseless rumours, as Wetangula continues with his work and public engagements without interruption.
