More young Kenyans are stepping into the political arena ahead of the 2027 General Election, and Radio Maisha presenter Clement Mleghenyi, popularly known as Clemmo 254 , is the latest to join the growing list.
The celebrated radio host has officially announced his ambition to contest for the Nairobi County Senator seat.
In a Facebook post seen by Nairobi News on Tuesday, November 25, Clemmo 254 unveiled a campaign-style poster signalling his interest in the senatorial race.
However, he did not reveal the political party he intends to run under, nor whether he plans to vie as an independent candidate.

“Ni wakati wetu sasa! Vijana tujiongoze!” he wrote, rallying young people to take charge.
While the announcement excited a section of his followers, others insisted he was simply chasing clout and playing into the social-media-driven hype.
Several netizens questioned his financial muscle and political influence, branding his bid “a bluff.”
Whether serious or not, only time will tell how Clemmo’s political journey unfolds.
Clemmo 254 Gets Saved
Just recently, the presenter appeared to be on a personal transformation journey in what many now believe was preparation for his political debut.
As earlier reported by Nairobi News, Clemmo publicly declared he had turned over a new leaf on Sunday, September 7, 2025.
The Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) alumi, alongside his wife and children, attended a Sunday service at an undisclosed church where he gave his life to Jesus Christ.
In a Facebook post, he shared two photos of himself at the pulpit as he was prayed for.

Clemmo used the caption to announce that he had officially gotten saved, expressing pride in the life-changing decision.
“Sijutii!!! Na neema na rehema zake ziwe juu yangu,” he wrote.
His salvation announcement sparked hundreds of congratulatory messages from fans, many of whom welcomed him to the faith and applauded his bold step.
As Clemmo 254 steps into the political spotlight, all eyes will be on whether his newfound path will shape his next big chapter.
