Five public schools across four counties are set to benefit from a Sh 7 million education-focused social investment initiative by the Kenya Power Foundation.
The funding aims to support structural renovations and facelift projects to enhance learning environments for thousands of students.
According to the Foundation, Sh 4.5 million will be allocated to support one school each in Baringo, Turkana, and Machakos counties.
The remaining Sh 2.5 million will be shared between two schools in Nairobi County during the 2024/25 financial year.
The funds will go toward refurbishing dilapidated classrooms and completing crucial infrastructural upgrades in selected institutions, with the goal of creating safer and more conducive learning spaces.
Speaking at a cheque handover ceremony at Nairobi School, where the institution received Sh 1.5 million, Logan Christi Hambrick, Chairperson of the Kenya Power Foundation Board of Trustees and a Director at Kenya Power, reaffirmed the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting education across Kenya.

“Kenya Power Foundation is pleased to continue this journey that began late last financial year in this school.
Today’s cheque handover will help complete a key refurbishment project, and we’re equally excited about ongoing education initiatives in Baringo, Turkana, and Machakos counties,” Hambrick said.
She added that the Foundation plans to scale up its education investments countrywide and called on like-minded partners to collaborate in expanding the initiative.
“We are inviting individuals and institutions to join us in undertaking this cause,” she noted.
Beyond infrastructure development, the Foundation also plans to provide endowment funds and scholarships for students in marginalized communities as part of its broader education and empowerment strategy.
Launched in September 2024, the Kenya Power Foundation represents a significant milestone in the utility company’s efforts to implement sustainable corporate social responsibility programs.
It operates in all 47 counties, guided by three strategic pillars: education and skills development, energy and environment, and social investment and community wellness.
This investment reflects the Foundation’s broader mission of “empowering communities and lighting lives” through targeted development efforts that address key societal needs.
