Geoffrey Mosiria has moved to address claims circulating online about his time at the University of Nairobi, insisting that he was neither suspended nor expelled from the institution.
Mosiria, who is currently in Munich, Germany, said he had noticed what he described as attempts to create a false narrative about his university background and decided to set the record straight.
In a statement shared online, Mosiria maintained that his student record at the University of Nairobi was clean and that he had no history of criminal activities or involvement with goons.
“Good morning my good people from Munich Germany!!” Mosiria wrote.
“I have seen some people trying to push a fake narrative online, and I would like to set the record straight. During my time at the University of Nairobi, I was never suspended or expelled from the institution. I have clean records and no history of goons or criminal activities.”
Mosiria further highlighted his involvement in student leadership, saying he was among the best-performing students in his class, served as a class representative and later took up a leadership position within the Students’ Organization of Nairobi University (SONU).
“I was one of the best students in my class, served as a class representative, and also took up a leadership role in SONU,” he stated.
He added that his university journey remained an important part of his life and that he was proud of the values he upheld during his time as a student.
University of Nairobi letter
Mosiria’s statement was accompanied by an official-looking letter from the University of Nairobi Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs) dated November 11, 2024.
The letter, addressed “To Whom It May Concern,” identifies him as Geoffrey Mosiria Omotoke, with registration details listed as D33/38458/2011/C01/32594/2015.
According to the letter, Mosiria was admitted to the University of Nairobi on September 5, 2011, to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
The document states that he successfully completed his studies and was conferred a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance Option), Second Class Honours (Upper Division) during a congregation held at the University of Nairobi on December 5, 2014.
The university letter also confirms that Mosiria served as Secretary for Sports and Entertainment in the Students’ Organization of Nairobi University (SONU).
More significantly, the letter addresses his disciplinary record.
According to the document, university records showed that Mosiria “did not appear before any disciplinary committee for violation of University rules and regulations.”
It further states that there were no disciplinary actions or incidents recorded against him up to his graduation in 2014.
The letter was signed by Eng. Prof. Ayub Gitau, who was identified as the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs.
The university communication therefore provides a documentary account of Mosiria’s academic and student-leadership history, including his graduation and the absence of disciplinary proceedings recorded against him up to that point.
Mosiria’s latest post appears aimed at countering claims circulating on social media about his past, with the former university student choosing to point to his academic record, leadership role and the university document as part of his response.
