Later, he moved up to super lightweight in June 2021, winning over Mario Barrios in the eleventh round to claim the WBA (Regular) Super Lightweight Title.

He later returning to lightweight and defended his title successfully against Isaac Cruz in 2021 and Rolando Romero in 2022. In January 2023, he defeated Héctor García after the challenger’s corner stopped the fight before the ninth round.
