Governor Cecily Mbarire highlights party unity ahead of second term bid

Governor Cecily Mbarire has praised the display of unity within the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), noting that aspirants from across the country have come together to support President William Ruto’s bid for a second term.

Speaking during a party forum, Mbarire said the gathering was unprecedented in her 20 years in politics.

“These great men and women have come from far and wide to assure you, Your Excellency, that they are ready to go out there and help you get your second term,” she said. She described the forum as a clear sign that she is in the “right party with the right party leader.”

The governor highlighted the participation of women aspirants, noting that 50 per cent of those present were women.

“This party is for men, for hustlers. We even saw some arriving on bicycles. This shows that UDA truly represents hustlers and ordinary Kenyans,” she said.

Mbarire added that party members had come to the forum with key concerns.

They wanted clarity on whether they could work within the party without fear and sought assurances of fair and transparent treatment in party processes.

“They told me, ‘Chairperson, we want to hear from someone else. We want to hear from the party leader, President William Ruto.’ And I am sure they will,” she noted.

The remarks come as UDA mobilizes support ahead of the upcoming elections, emphasizing inclusivity, fairness, and grassroots participation in party activities.
