TikTok is one of the most popular social media platforms globally, and with millions of users sharing content daily, privacy has become a key concern for many. Whether you’re a content creator, a casual user, or someone who values a bit more privacy, you may want to keep your list of followers hidden from others. Although TikTok does not have a direct setting to completely hide your followers from everyone while keeping your account public, there are a few effective ways to control who sees your follower list.
Use the “Following List” Privacy Setting
TikTok offers a privacy setting that lets you manage who can view the list of accounts you follow. While this doesn’t directly hide your followers, it does offer a similar level of control for people concerned about visibility.
To access this setting, open your TikTok app and go to your profile. Tap on the three-line menu at the top-right corner, then select Settings and Privacy. From there, go to Privacy, and scroll down to find the Following list option. Tap on it and select Only me. This means no one else will be able to see the list of people you follow, making your engagement on the platform more private.
Make Your Account Private
If your main concern is keeping both your content and follower list away from strangers, the most straightforward way is to switch your account to private. With a private account, only users you approve can follow you and see your followers. To do this, go to Settings and Privacy, select Privacy, and toggle on Private account. This ensures that only approved followers can interact with your content and view your profile data.

However, note that making your account private also limits your exposure and engagement on the platform. If you’re trying to grow your audience, this setting may not be ideal.
Restrict Interactions Through Blocking or Removing Followers
If you’re looking to prevent specific users from seeing your followers without going private, another method is to block them. Blocking someone removes them from your followers and prevents them from accessing your profile or content. You can do this by visiting their profile, tapping the three dots at the top right, and selecting Block.
Alternatively, you can remove someone from your followers by going to your followers list, tapping the three dots next to their name, and selecting Remove this follower. This is useful if you want to curate your audience without cutting off access to your content for everyone.
