How to Turn Off Profile Views on TikTok

TikTok offers a variety of features to help users interact with content and connect with others. One of these is the Profile View History feature, which lets you see who has visited your profile—and also lets others know when you’ve viewed theirs. While this can be useful for some, others may find it uncomfortable or intrusive.

If you’d rather browse TikTok anonymously without letting people know you’ve visited their profile, you can easily turn off the profile views feature.

What Is TikTok Profile View History?

Profile View History is a TikTok feature that shows you a list of users who have visited your profile within the last 30 days. When it’s turned on:

  • You can see who checked your profile.
  • Other users can also see when you view their profiles.

When it’s turned off:

  • You won’t see who visited your profile.
  • Others won’t be notified if you check their profile.

It’s a two-way street—if you don’t want others to see your visits, you’ll also lose the ability to see who visits yours.

Why Turn Off Profile Views?

Here are a few common reasons TikTok users decide to disable this feature:

  • Privacy: You don’t want others to know when you’re checking their profiles.
  • Peace of Mind: Avoid the pressure of worrying about who is monitoring your account.
  • Cleaner Experience: Some users simply prefer not to track or be tracked.
  • Casual Browsing: It allows you to look at other profiles anonymously.
