A Kenyan police officer has gone viral for issuing a stern warning to men against engaging in sexual relationships with school-going girls.

Constable Kulmax Mungai, who is stationed at a police post in Njoro, Nakuru County, has been lauded online for his candid message reminding men of the heavy penalties that come with defilement.

In a video shared on his Facebook page on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the officer, who is also a recording artist urged men to exercise caution and always confirm the age of any woman they intend to get intimate with.

“Oyaaaaaah! Just a reminder. Watoto wamefunga shule. Na wasichana wa siku hizi mtoto hata wa miaka kumi na nne anaonekana kama mtu mkubwa. Wanaume mchungane sana na kitu inaitwa defilement. Imeumiza boy child sana. Kabla uanguke na yeye make sure umeona ID yake jamani. Hivyo tu,” Kulmax said.

35 Years In Prison For Defilement

The officer reminded men that the penalty for sleeping with an underage girl remains a jail term of up to 35 years, emphasising that ignorance of the law is no defense.

According to Mungai, many men end up in prison simply because they fail to verify the age of the girls they get involved with.

He said that taking a few minutes to confirm age could save one from a lifetime of regret and legal trouble.

His video has since attracted hundreds of reactions, with netizens applauding him for his proactive approach to community awareness.

Many praised him as a rare example of a police officer who genuinely cares about the public.

Social media users also hailed Mungai’s message as an example of effective community policing, saying such initiatives can help build trust between the police and citizens.

This is not the first time the Njoro-based officer has made headlines for his humane acts.
