Jaymoh Decin recalls being rejected at Churchill Show auditions; “God’s time is the best,”


Just like most popular creatives in Kenya, comedian Jaymoh Decin did not have it easy while trying to make a name for himself in the much-competitive entertainment industry.

The comic has come a long way – a tough journey filled with a lot of challenges and rejections.

However, the gods smiled at him and his star shone brighter in 2025, becoming a household name not just in Kenya but also in the entire East African region.

Jaymoh recently went back down the memory lane as he reminisced on how he was denied opportunities during big comedy auditions, such as the Churchill Show.

Speaking during an interview with VDJ Jones on his YouTube channel, the creative recalled when he was rejected severally during the Churchill Show auditions.

Despite the rejections, he did not give up as he also tried his luck with Chipukeezy where his dream as a standup comedian did not materialise.

According to Jaymoh Decin, he was not rejected or did not become a big star then not because he was not talented but because God had better plans for him in future.

He reiterated that it was God’s plan for him to undergo all the suffering before finally becoming a force to reckon with in the entertainment industry.

“Niliwahi piga Churchill audition wakanikata. Bado nishaawai piga standup tukiwa na Chipukeezy back then. Sijui, I guess si ni God’s time,”he disclosed.

Today, Jaymoh is one of the top content creators in the country commanding massive following thanks to his witty skits.

The comedian has been taking crazy numbers on YouTube and social media platforms with his parody video mimicking popular Kenyan and world personalities.

From Prophet Owuor to Vybz Kartel to an endless list of Kenyan stars, Decin has been winning with his comical skits.
