Kasarani MP and SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri denies claims he’s gay

Ronald Karauri, the Kasarani MP and SportPesa CEO, has finally responded to gay allegations sparked by blogger Edgar Obare.

The politician called out Obare, who shared the claims accompanied by alleged private videos from a man purporting to be Karauri’s ex-lover.

In a quick rejoinder, Karauri, through a video posted on social media, distanced himself from the claims, saying the reports were aimed at hurting his political aspirations.

Karauri added that the allegations were being peddled by people who intend to extort him.

The politician rubbished the claims that he was involved with a man, adding that he is a blessed man who loves women.

He admitted that he has had a bit of trouble with the ladies.

“I usually don’t address nonsense, but this one I must speak on. First of all, to the point, I am extremely straight. If I am going to have any issues, it’s going to be with women. I am blessed. In fact, women are the root of all my problems in this life. I am very blessed, but women pengine ndio wananiletea shida,” he said.

The SportPesa CEO attributed Edgar Obare’s exposé to a political attack, adding that he was not scared to face anyone in the political ring.

“Maybe it’s the political season, and people have their own agendas they want to push. Don’t be scared; if it’s political, we will meet in the ring. So, Edgar, this fake story of yours is fabricated. I don’t know what agenda you are going to push. If it’s about extortion, I have money for you. I’ll tell you how to get it,” he added.

Karauri offered Sh10 million to Edgar Obare as he dared him to release the videos and not manipulate his audience using AI.

He reiterated that if Obare fails to post the videos by Wednesday, February 11, at 5:00 pm, he would donate the money to his charity foundation.

“I will tell you how you can get it. Apparently, they have videos, which I’m scared of if they come out or whatever. What I am going to do is that instead of you extorting me, I’ll give you money to share this video on your platform. I’m giving you up to 5 pm. Share this video and entertain all of us. The money I have for you is Sh10 million. Share the video by 5 pm. Don’t use AI so that we can verify those things. Since I know that video does not exist, what I’ll do with this money if you are unable to produce it: Sh8 million will go to my foundation, and then Sh2 million I’ll give to the Majembe fight. Edgar, it’s on you. Entertain us,” he noted.

Karauri was trending at the beginning of the week after Edgar Obare’s Instagram exposé.

The blogger shared screenshots of a man claiming to have dated the lawmaker.

The man alleged that he had been receiving threats ever since he and the MP reportedly parted ways, and that his brother, who is back in Kenya, was being tailed.
