Man arrested for allegedly killing his father in domestic dispute in Bomet County


Man has been arrested after allegedly killing his 56-year-old father during a violent domestic dispute in Kipsinende village, Konoin Sub-County, Bomet County.

According to Bomet County Police Commander Edward Imbwaga, the suspect, identified as Hillary Yegon, is accused of fatally attacking his father, Joel Kipyegon Kosgei, with a kitchen knife following a heated argument over a land dispute.

Police said the suspect allegedly picked up the knife and slit his father’s throat, causing severe bleeding that led to his immediate death.

Residents reportedly descended on the suspect shortly after the incident, beating him and leaving him with serious injuries.

He lost consciousness and was rushed to Kapkatet Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment under police guard.

Officers recovered the suspected murder weapon, a bloodstained kitchen knife, at the scene.

The body of the deceased was transferred to Kapkatet Hospital Mortuary pending post-mortem examination.

Police have launched investigations into the incident as they await the suspect’s recovery before further legal action is taken.
