Man found dead in his house in Kangeta, Meru County


Police are investigating an incident where a man was found dead in his bed in Kangeta, Meru County.

Police identified the man as David Kimathi.

The man had a physical injury on his right eye.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.

Elsewhere in Samburu, Kwale County, a body of a man was found in a trench after a suspected murder.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and other procedures.

And a man succumbed to injuries he sustained after being assaulted by his relatives on claims he stole his mother’s money.

He was assaulted on April 1 and succumbed to the injuries on April 3. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and as police pursue the suspects in the saga.

In Chepilat, Bomet County, a pedestrian drowned in a river after he slipped therein.

It is said Philemon Cheruiyot, 34 was crossing Sisi River when he drowned on March 23.

The body was recovered more than two weeks later on April 5 after divers were used in the retrieval mission.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending other procedures.

In Navakholo, Kakamega County, a man was lynched by a mob after he was found with a motorcycle that had been stolen from a local rider.

Police discourage mob lynching and want suspects be surrendered to authorities for processing.

And a woman was arrested over the murder of a man in Longisa, Bomet County.

This was in connection with the murder of Joseph Kimutai, 55 on October 10, 2024.

Police said the woman was arrested in Kuresoi, Nakuru County on Sunday April 4. She will be presented in court where other suspects are facing murder charges, police said.

Murder incidents have been on the rise amid efforts to solve them, police say.
