Police in Sipili, Laikipia County, are investigating a suspected murder incident following the discovery of a male body lying along the roadside at Mugeko area near Sipili Trading Centre on 13 June 2026.
A boda boda ride stated that he was ferrying a pillion passenger from Kinamba Trading Centre to Ol Moran Trading Centre when he noticed an unidentified male body lying on the right-hand side of the road in a pool of blood.
Police officers proceeded to the scene and confirmed the incident.
Upon arrival, they found the body of a male adult identified as Moses Lodekek, a 48-year-old Turkana man from Mlima Meza and a livestock broker.
The body was lying in a pool of blood with visible injuries, including a deep cut wound on the back of the head and a cut wound on the left palm.
Blood was also observed oozing from the mouth, and the deceased’s jacket appeared torn.
Preliminary assessment suggested that the victim may have been hit by a speeding motor vehicle or motorcycle, although the exact circumstances remain under investigation.
The scene was processed, photographed, and documented by crime scene personnel before the body was moved to Sipili Funeral Home for preservation, pending post-mortem examination.
Police have launched investigations to establish the exact cause of death and identify those responsible.
Elsewhere, police in Nandi Sub County are investigating a murder incident following the death of a man after a reported assault in Kibuwareng area.
It is reported that the deceased, Silas Kiplangat Keter, aged 37 years, had a confrontation with one Wilson Kiprono Limo, aged 32 years.
During the altercation, the victim was allegedly struck on the head with a blunt object and sustained serious injuries.
He was later found injured inside his house by the reportee and was rushed to Kapsabet Sub-County Referral Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The body was transferred to Samaritan Farewell Home mortuary pending post-mortem examination.
The suspect, Wilson Kiprono Limo, was arrested by members of the public following the incident and escorted to Kibuwareng Police Post, where he is being held pending arraignment in court.
Police have launched further investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal assault.
And police in Nyeri Central Sub County are continuing with investigations into a disturbing incident involving the recovery of dismembered human remains within Mumbi Estate, Nyeri County.
Upon inspection, they established that the sack contained two human legs and two hands, which are believed to be linked to the earlier reported incident.
Further examination revealed that the legs had no feet while the hands had no fingers. Investigators also observed that the remains appeared unusually well preserved, with no visible traces of blood and a notably cold, almost frozen condition.
The scene was processed, documented, and secured by crime scene personnel. The recovered body parts were then transported to Nyeri County Referral Hospital Mortuary, where they await post-mortem examination and further forensic analysis.
Police have intensified investigations to establish the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the dismemberment and disposal of the remains.
