A 50-year-old teacher at Migosi Primary School was found dead inside her house in Nyawita, Kisumu, after relatives raised the alarm when she failed to answer phone calls.
Noel Clerk Khasandi was discovered lifeless in the bathroom of her house on Wednesday evening, September 9, 2026.
According to police, Khasandi had not been answering calls from morning, prompting her brother to visit her home at around 8pm to check on her.
Upon arrival, he found the house locked from inside. He peeped through a bathroom window and saw Khasandi’s body lying face down.
He alerted neighbours, who arrived at the scene and broke into the house. They found the teacher’s lifeless body lying in the bathroom.
The scene was processed and documented before the body was removed and taken to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) mortuary.
The cause of death had not been established, with police awaiting a post-mortem examination as investigations continue.
Elsewhere, a 49-year-old man was found dead in a Napier grass plantation in Gekano Sub-Location, Manga Sub-County, Nyamira County.
The deceased, identified as George Ogero, was discovered on Wednesday evening, September 9, 2026.
According to police r, a boda boda rider, reported the discovery to police.
Police responded and proceeded to the scene, where they found Ogero’s lifeless body lying in a Napier grass plantation surrounded by several homesteads.
Police said Ogero had been seen alive at around 3:30pm before his body was discovered approximately two and a half hours later.
There were no visible injuries on the body, raising questions over the circumstances surrounding his sudden death.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Manga processed the scene before the body was removed.
The remains were taken to Keroka Sub-County Hospital mortuary, where they are being preserved pending an autopsy to establish the cause of death.
Police have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding Ogero’s death.
