Missing boy found drowned in river in Subukia, Nakuru County


Police in Kiboronjo, Subukia, Nakuru County are investigating an incident where a missing boy was found drowned in Akwis River.

The boy went missing on November 7. The body was discovered two days later, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary pending autopsy.

The circumstances surrounding the drowning of the seven year old boy were not known, police said.

And four police officers were disarmed and detained after a guard was shot and wounded at a restaurant in Kasagam area, Kisumu County.

The team was from General Service Unit headquarters and had traveled to Kisumu for a funeral when a scuffle broke out at a restraint.

The guard was shot and wounded in the thigh and admitted in hospital.

Police were alerted of the drama and rushed to the scene detaining the four with their civilian friends who were involved in the scuffle.

They were taken to the station for further processing where they were disarmed of their pistols.

Police said they are investigating the incident and the victim was admitted in a stable condition.

And two police officers and an assistant chief were assaulted and seriously wounded during an operation at a changaa den in Olenguruone, Kuresoi, Nakuru County.

The team also lost a handcuff that they had used to cuff a suspect, police said.

The officials had gone to Chikamba within Emitik sub location and found people taking liquor and after introducing themselves, one of those present drew nuts and assaulted one of the officers on the forehead and shoulder.

The officer was also bitten in the right thumb while the chief sustained a bruise on the fore right finger and elbow in a scuffle.

Another police officer sustained an injury on the right leg as he lost a handcuff which was already handcuffed in one hand of the assailant.

The mission ended as the officials were taken to the hospital. More officers arrived at the home amid tension. No arrest was made in the Sunday operation.
