A multi-agency security team has recovered 115 head of cattle in Mukogodo following a coordinated operation targeting suspected bandits in the Almororo area of Laikipia County.
According to the National Police Service, the operation was launched to flush out armed criminals linked to cattle rustling and restore security in the region.
The team successfully traced and recovered the livestock in Seketoi Valley before coming under attack while escorting the animals.
“The team successfully recovered 115 head of cattle in Seketoi Valley, which had been taken by suspected bandits,” the police said.
Authorities noted that a fierce exchange of fire ensued after the ambush, but officers held their ground and repelled the attackers.

“Despite the attack, the security team courageously stood its ground and successfully overwhelmed the assailants,” the statement added.
The recovered livestock are currently under secure escort as arrangements are made for their return to rightful owners.
Police praised the officers involved, describing the operation as a reflection of their commitment to protecting lives and property in high-risk areas.
“This operation is a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made daily by security agencies and their readiness to confront danger in order to protect citizens,” the service said.
